9kmovies win, mba, new, city, casa, press, info, top, io: every address, and the one to keep
The name has lived on dozens of suffixes. Here is what each was, how to recognise the real site, and why this address stays put.
The 9kMovies app: install from the browser, no APK
How to put 9kMovies on a phone's home screen in two taps, what the installed app keeps, and what the "apk" and "app download pc" searches lead to.
Downloads on 9kMovies: where the button lives and how much a film takes
The download lives inside the service you open with Watch now. Here is how it works for a Bollywood film, a South film and a web series, and how much space each takes.
HD, 1080p, 720p, 480p and data on 9kMovies
What the HD label means, why 1080p is the tier to expect on a television and 480p on mobile data, and how much each uses.
9kMovies not working? Loading, search, Watch now and the address
The causes behind a page that will not load, and what fixes each one.
Is 9kMovies safe, and is it legal?
What the site stores, what it never asks for, and why the viewing is licensed in the country you choose.
9kMovies: Bollywood, Hollywood and South Indian movies and web series, one shelf per language
9kMovies is the site people open for the new Bollywood release, the South film everyone is talking about, the Hollywood series they want in Hindi and the web series that dropped this week. The shelves are the ones the name is known for, Hindi, South Indian, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Hollywood, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu, with the web series beside them and a shelf per year from 2022 to 2026. Every card carries the year and the language over the poster, the way the original site printed them.
Open a card and the page carries the story, the cast, the original title in its own script, every season and every dated episode, and a Watch now button that opens the title in HD on the services carrying it in your country, the free ones marked. Dhurandhar, Gandhari and Alpha lead the slider this month; Coolie, Kantara Chapter 1, Mirzapur and Reacher sit behind them. Save what you want to My List and 9kMovies keeps your place, on the phone and on the television's browser.
The front page, measured from the original
The front page is laid out the way 9kmovies.com looked in January 2025, because that is the site people mean when they type the name. The violet header carries the pointing-hand wordmark on the left and the search box with its blue button on the right. Under it, the slider: a white box of poster tiles, each caption printed over the artwork with the title, the year and the language, and faded edges holding the arrows. Then the category pills, one violet pill per language in the order the original used, Hindi, South Indian, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Hollywood, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, Web Series and Tv shows, with the year shelves at the front. Then the violet section bars: Latest Movies, Latest Web Series, the language shelves, Top IMDb and New Episodes, seven posters across on a desktop and two on a phone, each caption printed over the artwork under a dark fade, with page numbers under each shelf.
What changed is everything under the surface. The original's captions ended in a line about files; here they end in the year and the language, and the card opens a page with the story, the cast and every dated episode rather than a list of links. The category pills open shelves that are sorted and filterable. The search box reads Devanagari, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali script as well as English. And the site is built for the phone first, which the original was not, because the phone is where most of its visitors were standing.
Reading a card
Every card says the same things: the poster, the title printed over the bottom of it, and under the title the year and the language, "2025 · Hindi movie", "2024 · Telugu movie", "2019 · Hindi series". A series carries the count of dated episodes on its page, a film carries its runtime. The star rating with its vote count sits beside the year where there are enough votes to mean something. That is enough to tell a new release from a rewatch and a Tamil original from its Hindi dub before opening anything, and the language on the card is the original language of the production, which is the one the shelves follow; the Hindi dub of a Telugu film is on the Telugu shelf, with the Hindi track in the service's audio menu.
Search here..
The search box says Search here.. and it reads any name a title goes by. Dhurandhar in Latin letters or in Devanagari opens the same page; Pushpa, Pushpa 2 and Pushpa 2: The Rule all open the film; "the family man" and "family man" agree; Kalki finds Kalki 2898-AD without the number. Words like "watch", "online", "free", "hd", "download", "hindi dubbed", "dual audio" and "9kmovies" are stripped before the search runs, so a phrase pasted from a search engine finds the title rather than nothing. Type an actor or a director and their titles line up; type a language, "malayalam", "punjabi", and the search narrows to that shelf; type a year and the year shelf opens.
Add an episode, "mirzapur s3e5" or "panchayat season 4 episode 3", and the results narrow to the series with that dated episode; the season page opens with the row highlighted. The search page adds the filters: type, genre, year, status, country, language and a minimum rating, with a sort by popularity, newest, rating, recently updated or name. Language is the filter this site's visitors use most, and Year is the second, because "9kmovies 2025" is the second most typed phrase with the name. The search guide takes the awkward cases, and the A-Z list is the whole catalogue in one scroll, which is what "9kmovies list" means.
One shelf per language
The shelves are the site. Five hundred productions at the September 2026 update, three hundred and seventy films and a hundred and thirty series, across twelve original languages: a hundred and twenty-nine Hindi, a hundred English, sixty Telugu, fifty-nine Tamil, forty Malayalam, twenty each of Kannada and Urdu, nineteen each of Bengali and Punjabi, eighteen Marathi, thirteen Gujarati and three Odia. Each language has its own shelf, sorted by popularity with the year and the language on every card, and the languages page lists all twelve with the count on each. South Indian gathers the four southern industries on one shelf, a hundred and seventy-nine titles, because that is how the original grouped them and how people search them.
Hindi movies and the Hindi originals
The Hindi shelf is the largest, and it is two shelves in one. The films: Dhurandhar and its sequel, Jawan, Dangal, KILL, War 2, Saiyaara, Gandhari and Alpha. And the originals from the streaming services, which are the reason the web series shelf exists: Mirzapur, The Family Man, Panchayat, Paatal Lok, Sacred Games, Farzi, Delhi Crime, Heeramandi, Made in Heaven, Criminal Justice, Hostel Daze and College Romance. The Hindi web series shelf holds the fifty-one series on their own, every season with every episode dated.
South Indian: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada
"9kmovies south" is searched every month, and the four southern shelves are where the biggest films of the last five years live. Telugu: RRR, Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898-AD, Devara, Bāhubali 2, HIT: The Third Case, Hi Nanna, and this year's The Rajasaab, Peddi and Irumudi. Tamil: Coolie, Jailer, Jana Nayagan, Vishwanath & Sons and Karuppu. Malayalam: Lokah Chapter 1, Marco, The Goat Life, All We Imagine as Light, Kaathal and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. Kannada: K.G.F: Chapter 2, Kantara and Kantara Chapter 1, 777 Charlie, Mahavatar Narsimha, Toxic, Martin and Bagheera.
Most of these released in Hindi as well as in their own language, and the Hindi track is in the service's audio menu when you press Watch now; the shelf follows the original language, so a film searched as "hindi dubbed" is found by its title and played in Hindi from the menu. The dubs page explains which services carry which tracks.
Hollywood, in English and in Hindi
"9kmovies hollywood" come up wherever the name is known, and the Hollywood shelf holds a hundred titles, series and films together, because the Hollywood people search with this name is as often a series as a film: Reacher, Lioness, The Rookie, MobLand, Ted Lasso, Silo, Slow Horses, Euphoria, The White Lotus, Only Murders in the Building, Invincible and this year's Lanterns. The films are the 2026 releases people are waiting for on the services, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, Toy Story 5 and Moana. The Hindi dub of a Hollywood title is on the global services' audio menu where the studio made one, immediately for the big releases and a few weeks behind for a series.
Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia and Urdu
"9kmovies bengali", "9kmovies marathi" and "9kmovies kannada" are typed by the people the original site served best, and the regional shelves are curated rather than filled. Bengali holds films from both sides of the border: Bonolota Express, MR-9: Do or Die, Borbaad and Utshob. Punjabi holds The Legend of Maula Jatt, Carry On Jatta 2, Qismat and Angrej. Marathi holds Sairat, Ved, The Disciple and Court. Gujarati holds Last Film Show, Vash and Vash Level 2, Hello, Chhello Divas and Love Ni Bhavai. Urdu holds the Pakistani films, Joyland, The Glassworker, The Donkey King, Bin Roye, Kamli and Pari. The three Odia films sit on the languages page with the others. The free ad-supported services carry a large share of these shelves, whole filmographies included.
2025, 2024, 2023, 2022 and New in 2026
"9kmovies 2025" is the second most typed phrase with the name, and the year shelves answer it directly. 2025 holds seventy-four titles: Dhurandhar, Coolie, War 2, Kantara Chapter 1, Lokah, Saiyaara, HIT: The Third Case, Mahavatar Narsimha, Vash Level 2, Borbaad, MobLand and the year's web series. 2024 holds fifty-six: Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898-AD, Devara, KILL, Heeramandi, Marco, The Goat Life, All We Imagine as Light, The Glassworker, Martin and Bagheera. 2023 holds Jawan, Farzi, Jailer, Vash, Hi Nanna, Kaathal, Silo, Lioness and MR-9. 2022 holds RRR, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Kantara, 777 Charlie, The Legend of Maula Jatt, Last Film Show, Ved, Joyland, Reacher and Slow Horses. New in 2026 holds seventy-seven titles that arrived this year, newest first, from Gandhari and Alpha to Jana Nayagan, The Rajasaab, Toxic, Lanterns and The Odyssey. The years page goes further back, one page per year.
Latest movies and New episodes
Latest movies is the shelf the original's front page was named for: every film ordered by release date, newest first, with the year and the language on every card, which is where a new Bollywood release sits beside a new Malayalam one the week they arrive. Latest TV does the same for the series, and New episodes lists the newest dated episodes across every series, newest first, with the series name, the season and episode number and the date, which is where a returning series shows up the day a new season drops. Trending orders the whole catalogue by the attention it is getting this week, and it is where an older film climbs when its sequel is announced.
Web series with every episode dated
"9kmovies tv shows" and "web series" are searched with the name every month, and the web series shelf holds a hundred and thirty series with three hundred and twenty seasons and 3,145 dated episodes between them. Every series has a page per season with every episode in order, the title, the day it released and a one-line summary, counted the way the services count them: Mirzapur's three seasons and twenty-nine episodes, Panchayat's four seasons and thirty-two, The Family Man's three and twenty-six, Reacher's four and thirty-two, The Rookie's eight and a hundred and forty-four. The ongoing shelf gathers the sixty-six series still returning, which is the shelf to check before starting something, and the status chip on each page says whether the story is finished or resting between seasons. Every row has a Reached this episode button; the seasons page explains the rest.
Reading a title page
A title page begins with the poster, the original title in its own script beneath the English one, and a row of chips: Movie or TV, the year, the runtime or the number of dated episodes, and the first three genres. Then the story, then the two buttons, Watch now and Add to My List. Under the story, the Where to watch panel with the country menu; then the facts, the original title, the release date, the original language, the country of production, the number of seasons, the studio, the TMDB rating with its vote count, and the other names the title goes by, which is where the transliterations and the alternate spellings turn up, every one of them searchable. Below that, the cast and the creators, each a search away from their other work, a You may also like row built from the genre and the language rather than the chart, and for a series the season links, each opening a table with every episode and a Reached this episode button on every row.
Action, thriller, romance and the rest
Under the language shelves sit the genre shelves, built across every language. Action and adventure is the largest and the one most often put on for a room: Dhurandhar, KILL, War 2, Pushpa 2, K.G.F, Reacher. Thriller and horror holds Vash, Kantara, Marco, Paatal Lok, Farzi and Silo. Crime and mystery holds Mirzapur, Sacred Games, Delhi Crime, Slow Horses, MobLand and Criminal Justice. Romance holds Saiyaara, Sairat, Qismat, Hi Nanna and Love Ni Bhavai. Comedy holds Panchayat, Hostel Daze, College Romance, Carry On Jatta 2 and Ted Lasso. Drama is the widest shelf, from Dangal and The Goat Life to Court and Joyland. Sci-fi and fantasy holds Kalki 2898-AD, Bāhubali, Silo, Lanterns and The Odyssey. Animation and family holds Mahavatar Narsimha, The Glassworker, The Donkey King, Toy Story 5 and Moana. Superheroes holds Spider-Man, Lanterns and Invincible. Top rated series is the shelf where Panchayat, The Family Man, Mirzapur, Reacher, Ted Lasso and Slow Horses sit together with nothing but the score between them.
My List and Reached this episode
The button on every title page reads Add to My List, and the list lives at the end of the category pills under the heart. Each card on it shows the poster, the year, the language and, for a series, the saved place, "Season 3, Episode 5", set by the Reached this episode button on the season table. Press a later row and the place moves; the button reads Saved here; the row is highlighted the next time the page opens. There is no account behind any of it; the list is stored in the browser and sent nowhere. Export writes a few kilobytes holding the titles and the marks, Import merges such a file with the later mark winning, and that is how the list moves from phone to tablet to the television's browser, and the backup to take before clearing a browser's data. The viewing country is stored beside it.
Watch now and your country
Watch now is the button under every title. Press it and the title opens on the services carrying it in the country you chose: the Indian services that carry the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada releases first, the global subscriptions that hold the Hollywood titles and the originals, the free ad-supported services marked as free, and the stores that sell or rent a film, each with the price where there is one. Choose the service and the title plays there in HD, in the language you choose from its audio menu, on every device that service supports, with its own download button for the train. 9kMovies stays where you were, on the title page, ready for the next one.
Twelve countries are covered, and the country matters more than anything else on the page: a Bollywood film on three services in India can be on one in the United Kingdom and, for a few weeks after the cinema, none in a third; the Hindi dub of a Hollywood series is on the Indian service and the original on the global one; a Punjabi film is on a different service in Canada than at home. Choose the country you are in, change it deliberately when you travel, and change it back. A title on no service where you are yet shows its options the week one licenses it, so a film saved to My List at release is worth a second look a month later. Every service on the list is a licensed one operating in the country you selected, which is what makes viewing legal wherever you are, and it is how the site pays its way, through a referral fee some services pay at their ordinary price. The country page describes the services in each of the twelve.
Free
Everything on the site is free: search, the language shelves, the year shelves, every title and season page, My List and the app, with no account and nothing between you and any page. When you press Watch now, the list for your country includes the free ad-supported services, marked as free, alongside the subscriptions, and free carries more than people expect: the older Bollywood catalogue, a large share of the Punjabi, Marathi and Bengali shelves, the South films a year or two after release, and the older seasons of the web series. The new releases sit on the subscriptions first and drift to the free tiers over time, and the free movies page says which is which.
HD, 1080p, 720p, 480p and data
"9kmovies hd" and the 1080p, 720p and 480p people type with the name describe the same ladder the services use. 480p is the data-saver tier and looks fine on a phone; 720p and 1080p are both HD, 1080p the full frame, and the difference shows on a television and disappears on a phone. The service decides the tier from the master, your plan and the screen; a recent Bollywood or South release is 1080p native and the biggest ones are on the 4K tier of the global services, and an older Punjabi or Marathi film was mastered from what it was mastered from, and the HD release is as good as it will look. HD needs about five megabits a second and uses one to three gigabytes an hour; a film in HD is two to four gigabytes and about one at 480p, which is the setting to choose on mobile data. If a stream buffers, drop the tier one step in the player and it settles. The HD and data page has the numbers in one place.
Hindi dubbed, dual audio and subtitles
"Hindi dubbed" and "dual audio" are searched with the name every month, and both live in the service's audio menu. A South film that released in Hindi as well as Tamil or Telugu carries both tracks on the Indian services; a Hollywood title carries the Hindi dub where the studio made one, immediately for the big releases and a few weeks behind for a series; a Bengali or Marathi film carries its original and, on the larger releases, a Hindi track. Press Watch now, open the service, and the audio menu lists the tracks; switch during playback and the subtitles follow. English subtitles travel with nearly every title, and the Indian services add Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and other tracks on the larger releases. Every title page states the original language, and the original with subtitles is how the film was made; the dub is a different cast doing good work and wins when several people are watching. The subtitles and dubs page has the rest.
The app and the APK question
"9kmovies app", "9kmovies app download apk" and "9kmovies app download pc" are searched every month, and the app installs from the browser: Add to Home screen in Chrome on Android, share then Add to Home Screen in Safari on iPhone, two taps, the violet icon, full-screen with your list, your country and your episode marks inside it, updating itself every time it opens. Nothing from APKPure, nothing sideloaded, nothing to find on a forum. On a PC, Chrome and Edge install the site from the address bar's install icon and it opens in its own window with the language shelves and My List. The app page answers the rest, including what the installed app keeps and how to carry it to another device.
Downloads
"9kmovies download", "9kmovies 2025 bollywood movies download" and "9kmovies 2023 telugu movies download" are searched every month, and the download lives inside the service you open with Watch now: films and whole seasons come down to a phone or tablet in HD, in the language you chose, and stay for weeks. Press Watch now, choose the service for your country, open the title there and use its download button. A film in HD is two to four gigabytes and about one at the data-saver tier; a season of a web series is about six gigabytes in HD. Download over Wi-Fi the night before and the train costs nothing. The installed app opens without a connection and shows My List and the marks. The downloads page covers space, tracks and the export to take before a long trip.
On a smart TV
The arrangement most households settle on is to choose on the phone and play on the television. Open the title, press Watch now, choose the service for your country, and press the cast icon in that service's player: Chromecast from Android, AirPlay from an iPhone, the built-in cast on Samsung and LG. The service sends the stream to the television directly, in HD, with its own audio menu for the Hindi track, and the phone becomes the remote with My List open in your hand. Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV's Silk browser open the site directly and the language shelves work with the remote; Watch now opens the title in the service's TV app when it is installed, which every service on the list has. The smart TV page takes each screen in turn, including the subtitle size for the back of the room.
win, mba, new, city and the address to keep
Type the name into a search engine and the suggestions are a list of suffixes longer than any other movie site's: 9kmovies win, mba, new, city, casa, press, info, top, courses, io, vin, guru, fit, business, world, rocks, meme, pizza, wine, sarl, trade, foo, cards, dev, party, living, red, lol, one, live, bar, garden, africa, works, lifestyle, monster, tours, tattoo, name, fan, codes, cash, gifts, tube, haus, camp, host, homes, bike, archi, pw, icu, farm, cyou, biz, bid and tech. Each was an address the name moved to, or a copy that borrowed it for a season, and each is still typed by the people who used it. 9kmovies.com is the address the design here was measured from, as it looked in January 2025: the violet header, the pointing-hand wordmark, the slider, the category pills and the captions on the posters. That is the 9kMovies people remember, and this site is built on it, with everything under it rebuilt.
"9kmovies new link", "new domain", "new site" and "new website" are searched whenever a suffix goes dark, and the answer is this address, which does not move; save it to the home screen and the question never comes up again. "9kmovies proxy" is the same question from a filtered network, and the phone's mobile data or a VPN you already trust gets you here. The addresses page lists every suffix with what it was and describes how to recognise the real site: the violet header, one shelf per language, title pages with the cast and the episodes, a Watch now button that lists services by country, and no registration, no download button pointing at a file, no page asking for a card, no player asking for a plug-in.
When it will not load
Most "not working" searches with this name come from an old suffix going dark, and the addresses page is the first place to look. If this address will not load, switch the phone between Wi-Fi and mobile data, because a filtering network is the usual cause, and wait a few minutes if it loads on neither. The violet header is missing and the text runs edge to edge: the stylesheet did not arrive; reload once, then clear the site's data if it persists. Search stuck at Loading results: scripts are blocked; allow them, or use the A-Z list and the language shelves, which work without them. Watch now shows nothing for your country: change the country menu, or check back after the release window; a new film is usually on a service four to eight weeks after the cinema. A bad-gateway message belongs to the service's own player, and reloading it or picking another service fixes it. The not working page goes through each, including the login problem people search for, which has no answer here because there is nothing to log into.
Safe and legal
The site asks for no account, installs nothing and offers no file to download; it keeps three things in your browser and nowhere else, your list, your viewing country and the episodes you mark, and the privacy page lists them. The film plays on the service you choose from the Watch now list for the country you select, and every service on that list is a licensed one operating in that country, which is what makes the viewing legal wherever you are. The age guidance is on the service you open; adult productions and the adult web series imprints the original site carried are not listed here, and neither are the daily serials. The safe and legal page has both answers in full.
Release windows and festival weekends
"9kmovies new movie" is the question of when, and the answer has two parts. The Indian industries release around the festivals: Diwali and Eid are Bollywood's biggest weekends; Pongal and Sankranti fill the Tamil and Telugu shelves in January; Onam fills the Malayalam shelf in August and September; Christmas is shared by every shelf and by Hollywood. Then the gap to the services: a Bollywood or South release reaches them four to eight weeks after the cinema, sometimes sooner for the smaller films and later for the biggest; a Hollywood release runs six to twelve weeks; a web series is on its service the day it drops. Latest movies shows what arrived; the Watch now list shows where it plays; a film saved to My List at release is worth a second look a month later. The release calendar and the festival dates page have the usual windows.
Ratings
The score on every card and page is the TMDB audience rating, shown with its vote count, and the vote count is the part to read: a score of 8.5 from twenty thousand votes is a settled verdict, and the same score from forty votes is an opening weekend that will drift. That is why the Top rated series shelf requires at least two hundred votes behind a title and the Top rated page requires more. The scores are TMDB's, not IMDb's, and they run differently across the shelves: a Malayalam drama with a devoted audience often outscores a Bollywood blockbuster with a divided one, which is worth remembering when the numbers surprise you. The minimum-rating filter on the search page uses a floor of fifty votes; combine it with a language and a year and the result is a short list worth reading in full.
Actors, directors and studios
Every title page lists its cast and its creators, and every name is a link that runs a search. The same names recur across the shelves, and following the thread from one film to the next is how most people find the film they did not know they wanted: from Coolie to the rest of Rajinikanth's shelf, from Pushpa 2 to Devara, from Kantara to Kantara Chapter 1, from Sacred Games to Delhi Crime by way of the writers. Directors work the same way, and so do the studios: type the production house and its titles line up, which for a South film is often the fastest route to the films that travelled with it. The results page shows the poster cards with the year and the language over each, so a filmography is a shelf of its own.
Genres, years, languages and the A-Z list
Four browse pages sit under the shelves and in the footer. The genre pages list every genre attached to the catalogue with the count on each, sorted by popularity, with the year and the language on every card. The years page is a row of years; pick one and the films and series of that year sit together across every language, which is how a year is remembered by the people who watched it in the cinema. The languages page lists the twelve original languages with the count on each, and the country page lists the countries of production, which is different from the viewing country you choose on a title page. The A-Z list is the whole catalogue as one alphabet, every film and series under its English title with the original script searchable behind it, and the fastest way to answer whether a title is on the site at all. Each of these is a page of its own with a stable address, so a genre, a year or a language is a bookmark, and each opens on a phone with the same two-across posters as the front page.
Planning an evening, a weekend, a season
The runtime on a film's page and the episode count on a series' page turn a shelf into a plan. A Bollywood or South release runs two and a half to three hours, and the runtime sits on the card and the page so the evening is planned before anyone reaches for the remote; RRR is three hours and seven minutes, KILL an hour and forty-five, and the difference is a whole second film. A Hollywood series with eight episodes of an hour, Silo or Slow Horses, is a weekend; a Hindi original with eight episodes of forty minutes, Farzi or Paatal Lok, is a long evening or two short ones; The Rookie at a hundred and forty-four episodes is a season of the year, and it is the shelf where Reached this episode earns its place on every row.
The status chip is the other half of the plan. Ended means the season pages are a checklist and the ending is a real one; Returning means a new season is coming and the ongoing shelf will show it the day it drops; Cancelled means the story stopped early, which is worth knowing before the first episode. People who would rather watch a season in one sitting save the series to My List at its announcement and open it when the episode count settles; people who like the week's conversation open New episodes on the day. Either works, and the site holds the place for both.
The slider, Latest Movies and Trending
The slider under the header is the site's own pick of the moment, the way the original's was: this month Dhurandhar, Gandhari and Mirzapur, each with the year and the language printed over the picture and each opening its page, and the slider mixes the shelves on purpose: a Bollywood release beside a Kannada one beside a Hollywood series, because that is how the site's visitors actually watch. Latest Movies, the first shelf under the pills, follows it with the newest films of every language. Trending is the whole catalogue ordered by the attention it is getting this week, and it changes with the release calendar: a South film climbs the week its Hindi version reaches the services, a series climbs the week a new season is announced, and an older film climbs when its sequel is in the cinema. Top rated is the opposite list, the one that changes slowly, with the vote counts beside the scores.
Original script, transliteration and the other names
Every title page shows the original title in its own script beneath the English one, Devanagari for the Hindi and Marathi films, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada script for the South, Bengali, Gurmukhi and Gujarati for those shelves, Urdu for the Pakistani films, and the facts panel lists the other names the title goes by: the transliteration, the alternate spelling, the working title, the name it released under abroad. Every one of those names is searchable, which is what makes the search box forgiving: Bahubali and Baahubali and Bāhubali all open the same page, KGF and K.G.F agree, and a title typed the way a friend said it usually lands. Where two titles share a name, the year on the card separates them, and the search page's Language filter separates a Tamil original from a Hindi remake with the same title.
Remakes, sequels and chapters
Indian cinema runs on chapters and remakes, and the pages are built for it. Kantara and Kantara Chapter 1 are two pages three years apart, and the year on the card says which is the prequel; Vash and Vash Level 2 the same; Dhurandhar and The Revenge sit a year apart on the Hindi shelf. A Hindi remake of a Malayalam or Telugu film carries the same title as its original on a different shelf, and the Language filter on the search page keeps them apart; the You may also like row under a film is built from the genre and the language, so the original of a remake is often one row away. For a first time through a franchise, release order is the sensible choice, and the year on every card gives it to you.
On a phone
The site is laid out for a phone first: two posters across with the caption over each, the slider swiping two tiles at a time, the category pills wrapping into three rows, the menu and the search behind the ≡ button, the season tables full width, and the country menu and Watch now under the poster. The pills are the fastest way around on a small screen, one tap to any language shelf or any year, and the installed app opens on the front page with the shelves ready and My List one tap away. On mobile data, choose 480p in the service's player and download over Wi-Fi the night before; the HD and data page has the numbers.
Questions
What is 9kMovies?
9kMovies is the movie site arranged one shelf per language: Hindi, South Indian, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Hollywood, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu, with the web series beside them and a shelf per year. Every card carries the year and the language, every title page carries the story, the cast and every dated episode, and Watch now opens the title in HD on the services carrying it in your country.
Which 9kMovies address is the real one?
This one. The name has lived on dozens of suffixes, win, mba, new, city, casa, press, info, top, io and the rest, and each was an address the name moved to or a copy that borrowed it. The real site has the violet header with the pointing-hand wordmark, one shelf per language, title pages with the cast and the episodes, and no page asking for a card.
What is on the 2025 shelf?
Everything from 2025 on one shelf: Dhurandhar, Coolie, War 2, Kantara Chapter 1, Lokah Chapter 1, Saiyaara, the year's web series and the Hollywood releases. The 2024, 2023 and 2022 shelves work the same way, and New in 2026 holds this year's arrivals, newest first.
Does 9kMovies have an app or APK?
The app installs from the browser: Add to Home screen in Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone, two taps, the violet icon, full-screen with your list, your country and your episode marks inside it. On a PC, Chrome and Edge install it from the address bar. No APK is involved and nothing is sideloaded.
Can I download movies from 9kMovies?
Inside the service you open with Watch now: films and whole seasons come down to a phone or tablet in HD, in the language you chose, and stay for weeks. A film in HD is two to four gigabytes and about one at the data-saver tier, so download over Wi-Fi the night before.
What does HD mean on 9kMovies?
The title plays in high definition on the services in the Watch now list. 480p is the data-saver tier for mobile data, 720p and 1080p are both HD with 1080p the full frame for a television, and the biggest releases sit on the 4K tier of the global services.
Where is the Hindi dubbed version?
In the service's audio menu. A South film that released in Hindi as well as Tamil or Telugu carries both tracks on the Indian services; a Hollywood title carries the Hindi dub where the studio made one. Press Watch now, open the service, and switch tracks during playback; the subtitles follow.
Is 9kMovies safe?
It asks for no account, installs nothing and offers no file to download; the list, the viewing country and the episode marks stay in your own browser. The film plays on the licensed service you pick from the Watch now list for your country, which is what keeps every viewing legal wherever you are.
Is 9kMovies not working?
If it will not load, switch the phone between Wi-Fi and mobile data, because a filtering network is the usual cause, and check the addresses page if you came from an old suffix. If pages look unstyled, reload once. If search stops at Loading results, allow scripts. If Watch now lists nothing, change the country menu or check back after the release window.
How do web series work on 9kMovies?
Every series has a page per season with every episode listed and dated: Mirzapur, The Family Man, Panchayat, Paatal Lok, Reacher and the rest. New episodes lists the newest rows across every series, a Reached this episode button on every row keeps your place, and My List shows it under the series.
Is 9kMovies free?
Everything on the site is free: search, the shelves, every title and season page, My List and the app, with no account. Watch now lists the free ad-supported services carrying a title in your country beside the subscriptions, and free carries the older Bollywood catalogue, much of the regional shelves and the older seasons of the web series.
What is in the catalogue?
Five hundred productions at the September 2026 update: three hundred and seventy films and a hundred and thirty series, with three hundred and twenty seasons and 3,145 dated episodes, across Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia and Urdu.
